Strong Start

Erevan Nym – Envoy of King Thrael of Celene confronts the characters. Darlings, it’s time to come home. Four veterans and three scouts of the king. Lead veteran known to them – a friend for many years – Asia Eaglebright

Secret and Clues

  • Erevan brought veterans and scouts of the elven nation of Celine. They have orders to bring them back.
  • Hawkwind is still out there hunting for the daughters. He has served the kingdom of Celine for two hundred years. He has always done dirty jobs for the empire.
  • Guren the Crimson Lotus – Oni Priest of the Black Harbinger has the job to activate the obelisk of the Black Temple beneath the Shadowed Keep.
  • Guren the Crimson Lotus – Oni Priest of the Black Harbinger hired a mercenary company known as the Iron Drakes led by a Dwarf Blackguard named Fenris Fireforged – Mercenary Leader of the Iron Drakes.
  • The Iron Drakes consist of twelve veterans, twenty bandits, and two mages.
  • Guren the Crimson Lotus – Oni Priest of the Black Harbinger brought twelve cult fanatics and twenty cultists and has summoned about forty skeletons, fifteen zombies, and six skeletal giants.
  • Goblin worshippers of the Eater of Worlds operate in caves beneath the Shadowed Keep.
  • The Eater of Worlds are attempting to activate the obelisk below Valentin’s Folly to open the gates of the Black Cathedral to the realm of the Eater of Worlds. Guren and his forces are trying to get there first but have been unsuccessful.
  • Guren set up camp at an old set of standing stones near by – once a druid’s grove but now corrupted – called Blightwillow – Throne of Gurin . He resides in the hollow of a massive dead tree at the center of the standing stones.
  • Two hundred years ago the famed adventurer Valentin Ironwolf sought a place to make his home. Retirement was not in Valentin’s heart, but the wanderlust of his youth had long since died; he now sought a corner of the world to call his own. Along with his wife, Kaarina, his young son, Einar, and his faithful retainers he claimed the site upon which now stands the Shadowed Keep.
  • He found a network of tunnels down below, and supposedly a sunken temple of sorts.
  • The work was never finished and his family fell to bandits and brigands.
  • The keep is sometimes known as Ironwolf Keep after Valentin Ironwolf. Sometimes it’s known as Valentin’s folly. It is often known as the Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands!!!
